It’s Monday, y’all! And Election Eve here in Virginia. Yes, we have off-year elections for our local and state races, so it’s always an election year in the Old Dominion. Don’t be jealous!
Today is also the 40th anniversary of the Iranian student uprising that led to the takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran; 444 days later, our hostages would be released. I actually remember November 4, 1979 quite well — it was a Sunday and the Redskins were playing the Pittsburgh Steelers (pretty sure the ‘Skins lost, story of my life). The nightly news was all about Iran and I was pretty confused about why students would take hostages.
While I contemplate the crazy fast passage of time, here are your mojitos!
Mojito #1: Trump Taunts CNN Over Whistleblower, Nails Pelosi, Hints At Releasing Info On Colonel Vindman
From The Daily Wire:
President Donald Trump slammed CNN and Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday while speaking to reporters on the White House lawn before boarding Marine One and suggested that the administration would be releasing information showing that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman — who claims that he was disturbed by Trump’s phone call with Ukraine — is a “Never Trumper.”
Start popping the popcorn.
In the RealClearInvestigations report, Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst and national security adviser to Trump, said: “Everyone knows who he is. CNN knows. The Washington Post knows. The New York Times knows. Congress knows. The White House knows. Even the president knows who he is.”

Mojito #2: Nancy Pelosi Worried 2020 Democrats Are Going Too Far Left
From PJ Media:
Nancy Pelosi, who opened up an impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump in response to pressure from the far-left base of her party, has issued a warning to the Democrats running for president: far-left proposals like Medicare for All and wealth taxes won't help them defeat Trump in 2020. “What works in San Francisco does not necessarily work in Michigan. What works in Michigan works in San Francisco — talking about workers’ rights and sharing prosperity,” she said at a Bloomberg News roundtable on Friday.
No one ever accused Pelosi of being stupid, she’s not. But she does seem to have lost her vise-like grip on many party members in the House, with the likes of AOC and Ilhan Omar inflicting great damage with their social and anti-American stances.
If Pelosi sees the writing one the wall, you can’t help but wonder why she’s left it so late to talk about it.
“Remember November. You must win the Electoral College.”For more than two years President Donald Trump has talked about pulling the United States out of the landmark Paris climate agreement . Starting Monday he finally can do something about it.

Mojito #3: Oh My: Fresh NYT Polling Shows Trump Leading or Highly Competitive in Every Swing State
From Townhall:
A fresh batch of polling from the New York Times and Siena College demonstrates that against Joe Biden, Trump is only a modest underdog at this point, battling within the margin of error among likely voters in a slew of battlegrounds. Against Bernie Sanders, Trump is a slight favorite. And in a potential battle with Elizabeth Warren, Trump is tied or leading in all six tossup states tested.
The left seems a tad disquieted by this information. Terrified, even.
We’re a year minus a day from the 2020 election, so keep in mind that polling numbers are going to be all over the place and most will get it wrong. Buckle up, Smart Girl community!
