Hey, hey! Look at me being on time with your mojitos today. I know how grumpy you all get when they’re late in arriving! Happy Tuesday.
Mojito #1: ‘Baby It’s Woke Outside’? John Legend has co-written an updated version of ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ that revolves around consent
‘Tis the season (almost!) for people to lose their ish over that Christmas staple, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” In recent years, SJWs and other overly sensitive types have tried their best to condemn the lyrics as “date rapey.”
Now, I’ll admit I’ve had some fun at the song’s expense. I mean, when Dean Martin sings it, it IS a little bit creepy. But that has more to do with ole Dino than the song. It’s a SONG, for goodness sake. If it makes you uncomfortable, don’t listen to it.
Thank goodness, you all, that we have beta males like John Legend to protect us from Christmas songs.
From Twitchy:
This afternoon, Donald Trump shared a photo of the dog credited with helping to steer ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to his death:
But as tweeter @back_ttys points out, that’s really just a distraction from “the real hero”:
Ladies and gentlemen, John Legend:
Yuck.

Mojito #2: Judge reopens Covington Catholic teen's $250 million lawsuit against Washington Post
From The Washington Times:
A federal judge in Kentucky has reopened the $250 million defamation case filed by a Covington Catholic student against the Washington Post after dismissing it in July, allowing the lawsuit to proceed but narrowing its focus.
U.S. District Court Judge William Bertelsman agreed to permit discovery on three of 33 allegedly libelous statements in the Post’s coverage of the Jan. 18 incident pertaining to teenager Nicholas Sandmann. The Post has insisted that its reporting was fair and accurate.
You remember Nick Sandmann. He was the high schooler who was in DC for the March for Life this past January; he and his classmates were waiting for their bus to pick them up when they were confronted by several aggressive adult “activists” behaving badly. Many in the media, including conservative media, were quick to condemn Nick and his classmates. Turns out, they jumped to the wrong conclusion about Nick, who rather stoically stood quietly and took the abuse from the adults.
The Washington Post is having a very bad, no good week. Deservedly so.

Mojito #3: First construction of brand-new border wall in Texas begins
While DC salivates over the impeachment proceedings, something is afoot in Texas.
From Fox News:
Construction on a new border wall in Texas where none previously existed has begun along the Rio Grande river, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed to Fox News on Friday.
While 75 miles of wall has already been built under the Trump administration, until now all of those structures replaced existing ones such as vehicle barriers or dilapidated fences, which were ineffective before being replaced, according to the agency.
CBP officials call the new wall a “game-changer.” From January to August of this year, more than 325,000 illegals were apprehended trying to make their way into the US in the area where the new wall is being constructed.
By the end of 2020, the agency aims to have completed 141 miles of brand-new wall and 24 miles of new levee wall, along with 273 miles of replacement wall, for a total of more than 400 miles of border barriers. Seventy-one miles would also receive a second wall for extra security.
