Getting fierce in 2021

Here's what's next ...

Hello, friends of Smart Girl Politics! I hope each of you is having a wonderful Christmas season and, like me, are looking forward to new and better things in 2021.

Speaking of 2021, I have a fun new project in the works that I wanted to share with you. This year hasn’t exactly been full of highs for most of us, but the 2020 election did yield one exciting thing: a red wave of conservative women heading to Congress in January. There are 19 of them and they are the perfect antidote to media darling AOC and her so-called “Squad.”

What do I love best about the new class of GOP ladies, you ask? I love that they love America. There’s been far too little of that coming from DC lately and I’m hoping they’ll lead the way in returning pride of country to the halls of Congress.

So, about that project. I am launching a new weekly newsletter called “Fierce.” Fierce will be emailed to you every Friday at noon ET and will track the latest from the ladies of what I like to call The Fierce Force. We’ll also have some fun with the antics of the “Squad.”

If you’d like to receive the newsletter, you don’t have to do anything at all. If you’d prefer to opt out, please just unsubscribe from this email. It’s as simple as that!

Monday thru Thursday, I’ll be doing occasional blogging over at the newsletter’s home:

https://fierce.substack.com/

These posts will not be emailed out, but feel free to swing by. I’m really hoping we can build a community of activists around this newsletter, using The Fierce Force as inspiration for action. Please stop by often and, as always, let me know what I can do to make it more interesting and useful for you. Let’s see where this new adventure brings us!

Happy New Year!!

Watering the Liberty Tree

July 6, 2020

Hello, Smart Girl community! I hope you celebrated the heck out of your independence this past weekend. It was great to see so many patriotic displays across the country — especially in communities (looking at you, Los Angeles) that banned Americans from celebrating.

I celebrated by getting my very first gun! I have shot before using my husband’s guns, but it was time for me to get my own. The local gun range was incredibly low on inventory, a testament to how serious our fellow Americans are taking the threats to our country. I ended up getting a Sig Sauer P320, which is apparently the gun of choice for many in law enforcement and the military. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit intimidated, but I’ll take you along with me as I learn the art of self-defense.

Thank You

Big, big thanks to all of you who read and responded to my email on Friday. It’s gratifying to know I’m not alone in my anger at seeing our country being torn apart and the lack of action by our elected officials. As one of you responded, the GOP is impotent. Imagine where we’d be if we didn’t have President Trump and patriots like Tucker Carlson, Dan Bongino and others, who speak the truth and push back at great personal cost. They need us to do the same, so let’s get going!

Fighting Back

'We’re sick of this narrative.' Amen and hallelujah! From The Washington Examiner:

Police are investigating an act of vandalism after two white people were caught on video Saturday defacing a Black Lives Matter mural in Martinez, California.

Weird wording from the Examiner, but that’s beside the point.

In a viral video of the incident, the woman can be seen using a paint roller and black paint to cover the "B" and the "L" in "Black." The man, who was wearing a shirt from President Trump's campaign and a red “Make America Great Again” hat, fetched a second can of black paint from a white truck upon the request of the woman.

"No one wants Black Lives Matter here," the man told onlookers.

“We’re sick of this narrative,” he said. “The narrative of police brutality, the narrative of oppression, the narrative of racism. It’s a lie. It’s a lie.”

Using the left’s own tactics against them is an important way to fight back. Peaceful and no one got hurt.

Also … I don’t see a crime here.

K-Mac

Kayleigh McEnany is an absolute rock star. From Fox News:

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany scolded reporters during Monday’s press briefing for failing to ask a single question about a violent weekend that saw an 8-year-old girl die in Atlanta, as the nation saw a surge in gun violence.

The White House press corps, for the most part, is useless at best and destructive at worst. They obsess over every syllable uttered by the president, all the while ignoring actual news — such as an 8-year-old girl being shot to death in Atlanta and eighty people being shot in Chicago this past weekend.

K-Mac isn’t having any of that. She’s a gem!

Recommendation

If you’re like many us and are completely turned off by the woke world of sports, I have a columnist for you! Jason Whitlock, who writes at Outkick the Coverage, is one of the few sane, rational voices in the sports world. His latest is worth your time:

What to the Intelligent is Colin Kaepernick? A Fraud

Whitlock doesn’t see the world through a political lens; he’s a Christian first and foremost, which is definitely something different for a sportswriter. I don’t agree with him on everything, but I’m happy to support a fair-minded journalist!

RIP, Charlie Daniels

We lost a great patriot today. Look at what he posted just yesterday:

Let’s all strive to be more like Charlie.

Not Fighting Back Is Not an Option

This is important.

Hello, Smart Girl Politics community! I know it’s been a while since I’ve sent out an email, but this is important. SGP started as an activist community, but we fell away from that a few years ago. Well, it’s time to reactivate and embrace the activism — we simply have no choice but to fight back against those seeking to destroy our country.

Starting next week, I will be re-starting our newsletter — it needs a name, please suggest one! — to share stories of those who are fighting back, tips on fighting back in your own community and interviews with conservative rock stars. If that’s not your jam, no hard feelings — unsubscribing is always an option.

If it is your jam, however, I’d love help sourcing information for the newsletter. I have started a new Facebook group to act as a clearinghouse of information. Feel free to join us there or email me at teri@smartgirlpolitics.org with any suggestions or questions.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating your independence!

Oh, and for your podcast listening needs, please check out the most recent Smart Girl Politics podcast!
